What is a poker skin?

A poker skin is a separate brand running on a network's shared software and player pool: different name, lobby and promotions, same tables. Your account belongs to one skin, but you face the whole network — an ACR Poker regular and a PokerKing regular sit in the same games.

That is why skin choice on WPN comes down to access, payments and the rakeback deal rather than the games themselves. The cards, stakes and traffic are common property.

Difference between skins

Unlike many poker networks where the only differences between the skins are the graphics, WPN sites can be differentiated by:

Payment methods

WPN is a Bitcoin-friendly network, and they encourage players to deposit via cryptocurrencies. The sites also use other payment methods, such as e-wallets: most commonly Luxon Pay, plus Skrill and Neteller on PokerKing only.

Team pro and branding

Americas Cardroom stands out from the crowd in terms of marketing: although Phil Nagy identifies himself as WPN CEO, he usually wears ACR branded clothing; this site also has a pet: Stormy, an eagle who always shows up to announce promotions.

Americas Cardroom also sponsors several players, including Chris Moneymaker (WSOP Main Event champion), who fronts the live Moneymaker Tour. Also, ACR is the only site running an active Twitter account where news such as general maintenance is shared.

Each site has different names for the six VIP program levels, but the rewards are the same.

Promotions

Although the VIP system and the welcome bonus are the same in all skins, some sites allow you to choose between a fixed rakeback deal, a multi-level cashback program, or a combination. Our team will explain which one suits you best according to your game schedule.

How to choose the right skin

All WPN skins share a player pool, so the decision to play depends on your location, payment methods and the rakeback deal.

WPN is perhaps the only major network that sticks to a regular rakeback schedule in which heavy grinders are rewarded for their efforts. The offer is composed of a classical VIP program, welcome bonuses and rake races.

Welcome package

All WPN skins offer the same welcome bonus: 100% up to $2,000, no strings attached. For deposits from $25 to $2k, you'll get a matched bonus credited to your account, cleared at a rate of $1 for every 27.5 Award Points. The wagering time is 60 days.

Loyalty program

Elite Benefits is the multi-tiered rakeback program of WPN. It consists of six levels with different names according to the skin (from military ranks to grinders' nicknames). Four of these statuses are monthly, and the best two are annual. The rakeback ranges from 5.5% to 65% for the best players, and is paid by exchanging points in the cashier plus special milestones (medals and awards).

Fixed rakeback schedule

As a benefit for playing with us, you will be able to choose between Elite Benefits and a 27% fixed rakeback percentage paid to your account every week. The fixed deal is available in every partner skin except PokerKing. You make the choice at signup with the deal's bonus code, and it is irreversible — pick your side before the first hand.

Rake race

Two traditional rake races are held every week: The Beast (cash games) and Sit & Crush (SnG and Spins). A fraction of the rake paid at the games goes to the prize pool of these promotions. The jackpots float with the rake. In the week of September 14–20, 2026, The Beast collected $58,194.66 in its Cash Race Jackpot plus $19,398.22 in tournament packages ($95 tickets) and paid 468 players. Sit & Crush gathered $57,771.42 and $19,257.14 across 466 places. Payout steps run $50 / $125 / $250 / $500.

Bomb Pots

Bomb Pots were introduced in June 2020; up to four times per hour, every player seated at the table will be asked to drop in extra blinds in the pre-flop stage, and everyone's in to see the flop. No extra rewards apply, and the idea is to create massive multi-way pots. Bomb Pot tables also get their own rows in the Blitz lobby, running NL and PL formats with antes at 4-max.

Rake structure

Winning Poker Network applies a no flop, no drop policy and a weighted contributed rake method to distribute rake.

• MTTs: from 5% to 10%. The higher the buy-in, the lower the fee.
• SnG: 10%
• Spins: 6%

Games and traffic

Our own monitoring puts WPN among the top 10 networks for traffic: 21,000+ connections at 22:00 GMT, 25,000+ at the 04:00 GMT peak, and an average online of about 13,500 across the month. Although the network focuses its marketing efforts within the US, the truth is that many European and Asian players join the games; as a result, you will be able to find games around the clock. Prime time runs 00:00–06:00 GMT.

Cash games

With Americans at the tables, action on all stakes is guaranteed. In our analysis, we have spotted active tables from NL2 to NL5000 on all stakes. The proportion between Texas Hold'em and Omaha is about 65%–35%, and the lobby also runs AoF, PLO5, PLO8 and 7-Card Stud.

The "zoom" version of WPN is Blitz Poker, a fast-fold poker format in which we have spotted up to 150 connections at low and mid-stakes up to $200 (NL2–NL200, Hold'em and PLO).

There are no HU games on Winning Poker Network, but the site features 6-max and 9-max tables.

Tournaments (MTT)

Many players join WPN after checking its MTT grid. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are guaranteed every day, and tournament series like The High Five and Online Super Series are held several times per year, with guarantees up to $50 million per series. Special events are played on weekends under the brands The Sunday Moneymaker and PKO Sunday Funday with guarantees up to $300,000.

The network's main tournament, the $2,650 Venom, now runs as dual events — NLH plus a PLO Mystery Bounty — with combined guarantees of up to $15 million.

SnG and Spinz

Regular SnG can be found in all stakes and formats, including NLH, PLO Hi/Lo, regular, turbo, and hyper turbo. 9-max and 6-max games are available. A curious format called On-Demand adds a late registration period once the minimum number of players is registered.

Spin & Go are called Spinz on the Winning Poker Network. There are 7 limits available: $0.25 to $100.

Game softness

Holding so many promotions and having a regular rakeback schedule has a counterproductive result for the overall ecosystem: Winning Poker Network is considered a challenging site in terms of fishiness of the field.

Although the presence of American gamblers at the tables helps offset this, the truth is that many pros and rake machines play on WPN to secure an income via rakeback.

Hence, you must be ready to play with a HUD and constantly improve your game if you want to beat the games on WPN.

Attitude towards professional players

Only regular malpractices are prohibited on WPN: bots, real-time assistance, chip dumping, collusion, seating scripts, bumhunting, etc. Otherwise, you are welcome to play your best game on the network.

HUDs are welcome by default, and GTO strategies can be applied as long as they don't give you an unfair advantage. Third-party layouts are prohibited.

Reliability and trustworthiness

Overall we consider Winning Poker Network a legit site to play online poker. They have been operating for over 20 years, and in recent years they have worked hard to have a safer environment to grind.

License

WPN skins have operated under different licenses over the years — and today they still do not share one. ACR Poker and TruePoker hold a license from the Offshore Finance Authority of the State of Anjouan (No. ALSI-202607066-FI2). Black Chip Poker and YaPoker point to Curacao licenses without publishing numbers. PokerKing does not disclose licensing information on its site at all. None of these are regulated-market licenses. Players should weigh the network's track record alongside the licensing information available for each skin.

RNG

Winning Poker Network (WPN itself and its skins) exhibits a Random Number Generator (RNG) certificate from iTech Labs.

Reputation

WPN has a strong reputation among the poker community. They have held millionaire tournaments which have been paid instantaneously and signed famous pros like Chris Moneymaker. The site features an active community on social networks and runs a forum where players share their opinions.

Bots, RTA and regulators

Allegations involving bots and RTA have drawn public attention, as have WPN's responses. Bans with confiscation of bot winnings have been network practice since 2019, with seized funds redistributed to affected players. When bot allegations around ACR surfaced on Two Plus Two in January 2024, the network responded with a public account of bans and confiscations.

In 2025 the spotlight moved to ambassadors: Nacho Barbero was photographed mid-session with GTO Wizard open; ACR's investigation found no proof the tool drove his decisions, though the sponsorship later ended. A similar image involving Ebony Kenney appeared during the Venom. In September 2026, footage of a player apparently using real-time assistance triggered another investigation, and Phil Nagy reiterated that banned software means a lifetime ban.

ACR offers replays of completed final tables with players' hole cards revealed when a replay is available, allowing the community to review the play. On the regulatory side, Dutch authority KSA imposed a €1,275,000 fine on WPN in a decision dated December 17, 2024, after finding that Dutch players could access its sites, including TruePoker.eu. If something looks off at your table, report nicknames and table numbers to support.

Where can you play WPN?

One restricted list covers the whole network — except PokerKing, which keeps its own list with both residence and location restrictions.

For ACR Poker, Black Chip Poker, YaPoker and TruePoker, the restricted countries are:

PokerKing has separate residence and location restrictions: residents of the United States (and territories), Spain, Belgium, France, the Netherlands (with the Dutch West Indies and Curacao), Italy, Greece, Israel, Bulgaria, Portugal, Sweden, Australia, Afghanistan, Albania, North Korea, South Korea and Slovakia cannot deposit or play for real money. Players who live elsewhere also cannot play for real money while physically located in the United States or its territories, Spain, France, the Netherlands, the Dutch West Indies or Curacao, Germany, Greece, Israel, Bulgaria, Portugal, Sweden, Belgium, Estonia, Australia, Slovakia or the United Kingdom.

Deposits and cashouts

The network says over 90% of its transactions run through crypto, mainly Bitcoin. Several more cryptocurrencies have been added to the portfolio: USDT Tether, USDC, ETH, LTC.

Luxon works across the network as the default e-wallet, while Skrill, Neteller and ecoPayz are available on PokerKing only. Regional options cover the gaps: Pay4Fun in Brazil and e-Transfer in Canada work on every skin except PokerKing.

Suppose you want to avoid Bitcoin volatility. In that case, we recommend checking LTC, with a commission of no more than a few tens of cents.

Software review

WPN network applications are updated monthly and work stably on PC and mobile devices.

The client for desktop computers is available for Windows and macOS; browser play is not an option on PC, so the download is mandatory.

The graphic design resembles an older version of PokerStars. The lobby shows a list of games depending on the selection made with the buttons above. The tables can be arranged by stake, active players, etc.

Tracking software like Hold'em Manager or PokerTracker is compatible. Up to 24 tables can be played simultaneously. All grinder features like displaying chips in BB and using a 4-color deck are available.

Mobile app

There are no native mobile apps on WPN. The skins run as browser-based web apps (PWA) on iOS and Android, which lets you play from any modern phone or tablet.

Winning Poker Network history

Winning Poker Network, also known as WPN, is a US-facing network headquartered in Costa Rica. It opened its doors in 2001 under the name MyPokerNetwork.

In 2005 its current flagship site, Americas Cardroom, switched to the OnGame Poker Network. Later in 2007, the Yatahay Poker Network added ACR and other sites like TruePoker to their offer.

After Black Friday, the network kept operating in the US for a short while until the U.S. Attorney's Office seized their domains. Then it got rebranded to Winning Poker Network.

In 2011 WPN switched its platform to IGSoft, a crucial decision for the network that also led to the inclusion of PokerKing, a Russian-facing poker site. In 2019 the network switched its platform again to SJH, which has led to new game formats.

In 2023, the network rebranded its flagship Americas Cardroom site as ACR Poker and overhauled its app and website. Around the same time, WPN began hosting satellites that award packages to the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series.

The recent chapters read the way the network runs — loudly: public responses to bot and RTA allegations complete with open final-table replays, the flagship's move to an Anjouan license, the Venom's growth into dual events with $15M in combined guarantees, and a live Moneymaker Tour crossing the map.
