BetMGM combines player pools with Michigan and New Jersey

A third poker room has landed in the United States, combining players from different states. Since November 2024, BetMGM Poker has offered a shared pool of cash games and tournaments in Michigan and New Jersey. How do players benefit from this merger?

A new leader of legal online poker in the United States?

The leaders of legal poker rooms in the United States understand that they must attract as many players as possible to stand out from the competition. The best sites (WSOP.com and PokerStars) have been offering shared pools for residents of different states for a couple of years now so that they can meet at the same tables. Another brand recently joined the game.

On November 6, 2024, BetMGM Poker merged the pools of several rooms offering their services in Michigan and New Jersey.

The new pool was made up of:

BetMGM Poker MI
BetMGM Poker NJ
PartyPoker NJ
Borgata Poker NJ.

To celebrate the merger and attract new players, BetMGM Poker announced several promotions and updates:

Launched the $2M GTD BetMGM Online Championship Series with 56 tournaments
New Big Shots tournaments were added to the schedule
$50 Spins, in addition to increasing the maximum multiplier to x2,400

Due to the increased traffic volume after the merger, BetMGM Poker became one of the leaders in online poker in the USA.

In late November, the average number of weekly cash game connections was 240, while PokerStars and WSOP.com had around 150-160.

Experts believe that in 2025, BetMGM Poker will add two more states to the pool: Pennsylvania and Nevada.

The increase in liquidity will only benefit players: there will be more tables, bigger promotions, and better games and tournament offerings. BetMGM Poker's competitors will undoubtedly take action to compete with the new player, which will ultimately benefit the entire online poker industry in the United States.
