K-Poker: A New Format from CoinPoker
CoinPoker launched an exclusive K-Poker cash game format that offers a fresh take on traditional No-Limit Hold’em and makes the game noticeably more dynamic. The format limits decision-making time, simplifies bet-size selection, and increases the starting pot through an ante posted by all players. Let’s take a closer look at how K-Poker works and how its unique features affect strategy.
Hold'em on steroids
Poker rooms have long looked for ways to increase action at the tables, launching unconventional formats for this purpose. (Fast Poker, AoF, SrortDeсk) or incorporating various mechanics (RIT, Bomb Pot, Straddle). CoinPoker utilizes almost all of these developments.
Since September 1, 2026, its client has added a new exclusive format – K-Poker.
This is a variation of No-Limit Hold'em with the following features:
- Table format: 7-max.
- Betting format: Small and big blinds of 1BB each, and the ante of 1BB for all players at the table.
- Time bank: 10 seconds.
- Only five betting options: 25%, 50%, 100%, 200% of the pot, or all-in.
- Buy-in size from 50 to 100BB.
- Available limits: Six levels with ante from $0.10 to $5.

How the strategy is changing
K-Poker does not change the basic rules of No-Limit Hold’em, but it forces players to act significantly faster. The 10-second time limit, antes posted by all players, and just five available bet sizes affect both starting-hand selection and decision-making after the flop.
The format’s features directly influence strategy:
- More frequent pot competition. A 1BB ante from each player increases the starting pot to 9BB, so fighting for "dead chips" becomes a more important part of strategy.
- Increased value of position. In 7-max, players gain more information about opponents' actions in late positions, making positional advantages even more significant.
- Limited betting sizing options. Five fixed betting options simplify decision-making but do not allow players to adjust their bet size to specific situations as flexibly as in regular No-Limit Hold’em.
- Decisions should be made in advance. A ten-second time bank requires well-thought-out preflop ranges and standard postflop lines to avoid wasting time on basic analysis during the hand.
- Less time on complex spots. In large pots and unusual situations, players are forced to quickly evaluate ranges and equity without the benefit of a long time bank.
Multitabling
Multi-tabling in K-Poker directly depends on how well a player can maintain concentration under a high density of decisions. Therefore, the format’s potential is better assessed not by the maximum number of tables that can be opened simultaneously, but by the balance between game speed and decision quality.
- What helps with multi-tabling. Fixed bet sizes let players make standard decisions faster and play more hands per hour, especially with a solid understanding of preflop ranges and pre-planned postflop lines.
