Weekly Speed Race on iPoker Network

Fast-fold poker got a "second life" on iPoker Network in late 2022: new stakes were added, and the traffic increased significantly. Now they announced a new promotion: the Weekly Speed Race with a total prize pool of €8,000.

Features of the race

Promotions for cash players are uncommon on iPoker Network because, in its skins, they can get a good rakeback via the loyalty program for a relatively small rake. However, the fast-fold poker (Speed) revival marks an exception:

RedStar Poker, Betfair Poker, and Guts Poker, among others, will host eight rounds of the €1,000 Weekly Speed Race from December 5, 2022, to January 29, 2023.

To participate, you must opt-in in the "Missions" section of the client.
Points are awarded for winning a hand with pocket pairs. The higher the pair, the more points earned:

Only the first 1,000 Speed Poker hands count towards the promotion. During the week, the player can "reset" his score up to 99 times.

Depending on the stake, multipliers are applied to the accrued points:

The scoring period is at midnight GMT between Sunday and Monday. The best 75 players get into the prizes:

Why now?

Just two months ago, we wrote about why Speed Poker has been an unpopular format on the iPoker Network, but right after that, a series of events changed the situation:

Three new stakes up to NL100€ were added to the lobby
In mid-November, PokerMatch (Ukrainian poker room) switched to iPoker, and most of their players began to play SpeedPoker.

As a result, during peak hours, up to 200 connections can be spotted on NL5€ and more than 100 on NL10€. Some traffic gathers on NL20€. The launch of the race during the New Year holidays is likely to give another boost to the fast-fold poker traffic.
