On November 4, 2020, The Venom PKO $5M GTD hosted by Winning Poker Network ended. It collected $6,777,500 and became the largest tournament of this format in the history of online poker. First place was taken by a player from Austria — "pinguinachica" ($751,067, including a $273k bounty).
Recently, Winning Poker Network (Americas Cardroom, PokerKing, Black Chip Poker) has repeatedly faced great difficulties in implementing new products. The MoMoMo PKO $50M GTD, which was supposed to be a record-breaking series, had to be canceled due to massive overlays.
Nevertheless, the US-facing site decided to keep the main event, a unique edition of The Venom in a progressive knockout format with a $5M guaranteed prize pool. Many satellites were played like The Venom Fever, which gave away 300 tickets.
