Sky Poker Joins the iPoker Network
The iPoker Network's global pool continues to expand thanks to individual rooms in European countries. At the end of May 2025, Sky Poker became part of the network after operating as an independent platform for 18 years.
New British Room for iPoker
In February 2025, unexpected news broke from a major British gaming brand. Sky Betting informed its players that its poker room would soon be rebranding and joining a well-known European poker network.
Today, almost four months later, the changes have been implemented:
On May 27, 2025, Sky Poker joined the iPoker Network pool and migrated its platform to Playtech software. The poker room increases network traffic by 5%-7%, a massive advantage for all players, regardless of which skin they play on.
This poker room has operated as an independent site since 2007. This situation did not change even when Sky Betting was acquired by The Stars Group in 2018.
Since then, many experts believed that Sky Poker would quickly be absorbed by PokerStars, similar to FTP. However, the room continued to operate independently and has now moved to PokerStars' competitors.
Now, in addition to Betfair and Paddy Power, another room on this network will be owned by Flutter (owners of PokerStars).
IPoker has several skins from other UK companies: William Hill, Grosvenor Casinos, and Bet365. In recent years, the network has actively worked to attract rooms from several European markets:
- Netherlands (Holland Casino Poker)
- Switzerland (Swiss Casinos Poker)
- Czech Republic (Fortuna Poker)
What's changing for Sky Poker players?
To celebrate this event, the poker room announced a series of freerolls with £100,000 in prizes.
Other changes include:
- A new game client with tracker support, an internal HUD, and the ability to play on more than four tables at once (as was the case with the standalone Sky Poker).
- A new loyalty program with increased rakeback. This goes from 20% to 40%.
- Access to the iPoker table pool (7,000-9,000 players at peak times) while maintaining Sky Poker Exclusive: 6-max cash games (NL4-£20,000), Dozens of daily tournaments with buy-ins of £1-£40 and guarantees up to £4,000, Double Up SNGs (£0.25-£30), Heads Up SNGs (£1-£100).
The downsides of the transition from SkyPoker to iPoker include the closure of the dedicated forum and the termination of the contract with ambassador Neil Channing, who had been with the poker room for 11 years.
