Multi-table tournaments with Daily Double jackpots on Winning Poker Network
The US-friendly network WPN decided to revive the old mechanics of jackpots in MTT. You can find out what the Daily Double tournaments are in this article.
Everything new is well-forgotten old
Back in the mid-10s, 888Poker launched two Monday tournaments under the “Monday Twins” brand, whose participants could win different extra prizes according to their results in both events: from getting into prizes to taking first place. WPT Global also launched similar promotions with their tournament series and leaderboards (winning a Triple Crown gives hits a jackpot).
Winning Poker Network also decided to revive such mechanics. From May 31, four MTT Daily Double series will start in PokerKing, Americas Cardroom, and Black Chip Poker for the first time.
They are divided into:
- Two Daily Double – Loncar – $20,000-$50,000 GTD (buy-in $55, $88).
- Two Daily Double – Boski – $10,000-$15,000 GTD (buy-in $11).
Each group's tournaments start with a half-hour difference at 18:15 and 18:45 ET time. On Sunday, events boost their guarantee (the first up to $50K, the second up to $15K). They are named after the network's ambassadors, Jeff Boski and Michael Loncar.
Half an hour after the start of the final tables, a button will appear in the tournament lobby that allows you to start a live broadcast of the game with a delay directly in the client.
How does the Daily Double Jackpot work?
Jackpots feature a minimum prize pool:
- Loncar Daily Double – $20,000.
- Boski Daily Double – $5,000.
From each tournament, 1.5% of the prize money will be added to these Jackpots.
Jackpots are triggered in two cases:
- The player gets to both finals of the same “Loncar” or “Boski” event on the same day – 10% of the prize pool.
- The player wins both “Loncar” or “Boski” events on the same day – 100% of the prize pool.
Tournament structure
Daily Double – Loncar
- The initial stack is 20,000 chips (200BB).
- Blinds increase every 12 minutes.
- Late registration of 15 levels with unlimited re-entry.
- Table 8-max.
- A 9-max SnG satellite is available for $22 with two tickets in prizes.
Daily Double – Boski
- The initial stack is 25,000 chips (83BB).
- Blinds increase every 15 minutes.
- Late registration of 12 levels with unlimited re-entry.
- Table 8-max.
Two AoF satellites for 4 and 12 players for $5.5 and $2.2, respectively, guarantee 2 tickets each. Also, the Bliz Satellite Step 3 qualifying tournament for $2.5 in fast-fold poker format. A player sits at the table with 1,023 chips and gets a ticket after stuffing 5,000 chips.
Extra payouts in Daily Double tournaments should attract more amateurs to the tables.
